New Head of Detectives

Zero tolerance approach to Crime and Injustice

The Spokesperson and Captain Phephi Matlou of Diepkloof SAPS would like the Community of Diepkloof to know that they have appointed a new Station commander and Head of Detectives, Colonel Charmaine Reyneke.

Matlou Said, “Reyneke has a vast experience and a no tolerance approach to crime and unfairness. She is familiar to Soweto, because before she joined the Diepkloof SAPS she was in Meadowlands SAPS. We are pleased to have her as our Head of Detectives and if any people are not satisfied with any investigation she is the relevant person to see.”

Reyneke has been in the Police Force for more than 28 years and in Soweto for 23, she believes that a Police Officer who does not have a zero tolerance to crime inside and outside the Police Force should leave the Force. She says in all the Stations she’s ever worked her goal is and will always be to serve the community.

She has served the community of Kliptown, Sebokeng, Meadowlands and now Diepkloof. She said Soweto is like her home because every time she was appointed to work outside of Soweto, she always returned after a short while.

Reyneke said, “Social Media is another innovative way of exposing crime and Police Officers especially in Soweto should learn how to make use of it to stay up to date with the new crime methods. We urge communities to help out as much as possible.”

The Diepkloof Police Forum is looking for Road Safety Volunteers to help ensure the safety of pupils crossing the streets to school and fro, training will be provided.
