At 9am, four robbers walked into the store when one of the store workers immediately noticed they looked suspicious.
While one of them was waiting nearby in a get-away-car, a silver Nissan double cab.
“The woman ran out of the store. One robber was running after her, grabbed her from behind and when she started screaming,” says Springs police spokesman Captain Johannes Ramphora.
Police officials were patrolling the area when they heard a scream.
They then contacted Captain Mervin Kasavan, who was quick to arrive on the scene and arrested the three of the robbers.
Two of the robbers, including the one holding the woman, were arrested but according to Capt Ramphora the other robber who got away.
“When the driver noticed the police, fled the scene,” says Capt Ramphora.
After the police questioned the robbers they discovered they come from different parts of Soweto and one of them pretended not to know the others.
