A silver Mercedes Benz 180 was carjacked and recovered on the same day.
On Friday a woman parked her car in the driveway next to her husband who was in his car and got out to ring the bell at the house.
Springs police spokesman Captain Johannes Ramphora said when she returned to her car, she saw a white car stopping next to her husband’s car.
Four armed men got out of the car and grabbed them both.
“They ordered them to lie down, after pulling the husband from his car,” he said.
No shots were fired.
The men drove off in the woman’s car with a wedding ring, iPad, and clothes.
The car was recovered in Tsakane on the same day.
In Welgedacht Avenue, Bakerton a pedestrian was knocked over by a bakkie on Saturday.
At 8.30pm, a Corsa bakkie hit a pedestrian crossing the street.
Ramphora said the victim sustained serious injuries.
“He was treated by paramedics on the scene and taken to a nearby hospital,” added Ramphora.
The driver is not injured.
A man was stabbed at 3am, on Saturday in Third Street, Springs CBD.
According to Ramphora the police received a phone call in connection with a stabbing.
When they arrived on the scene, they found a man with stab wounds in his stomach.
“The ambulance arrived and the man was taken to a nearby hospital, but he died on the way there,” he added.
He was certified dead in the ambulance.
The purpose of the stabbing is unknown and a murder case was opened at the Springs Police Station.
