Cellphone was sold for nyaope

A thief allegedly steals it from a house in Vischkuil.

While a woman was washing blankets outside the house at noon, on Thursday, a thief allegedly entered her house to steal her cellphone.

She noticed her cellphone was missing after she went back into the house.

Captain Johannes Ramphora, Springs police spokesman, says she went to her neighbour to ask if he had seen anything.

The neighbour allegedly saw a man entering her house.

He said he would recognise the man and offered to help the woman to find the man.

Ramphora says when they found him the robber allegedly informed them he sold it to buy nyaope.

They called the police who arrived shortly thereafter to arrest the man.
