Riana Botha reported the seriously blocked drain on September 7 and had to wait nine days for the metro’s reaction.
Although the Botha family are used to the frequent blocked drain, they will never get use to the stench that comes with it.
Last Monday morning one of the neighbours asked why the water was running from the Botha’s property into the streets.
Botha says the neighbour immediately contacted the Springs municipal offices and within 30 minutes metro workers arrived
The workers unblocked the drain, cleaned and washed the area.
Just after the workers left a bigger truck arrived and sprayed all the water from the front of the Botha’s property onto the grass.
Botha says she has to wait for tissues and other waste, sprayed onto the grass, to dry before she can take it off the lawn.
Themba Gadebe, spokesman for the metro, says they will send out a team to investigate why this spaying onto the lawn was not done by the stand-by team.
