Case opened, no charges laid yet with regards children who died in car

Case is being investigated.

Two children, a boy (2) and girl (3), died on Monday afternoon after being trapped in a car in Strubenvale for about three hours along with three other children.

A boy (2) was in a critical condition and was transported to Tambo Memorial Hospital. At this stage the Addie has forwarded a query to the hospital to determine whether he has been released. We await a reply.

The other two children were in serious but stable conditions and were transported to Far East Rand Hospital (FERH).

One of the girls were discharged shortly after the incident while the other remained at FERH.

Captain Johannes Ramphora, spokesperson for Springs SAPS, says there have been no charges laid against anyone yet.

The facts relating to the incident are being investigated.
