Bikers’ generous donations

The members of Moondogs Motorbike Club were on the move on Saturday to do their annual charity run.

Firstly they stopped at the Springs SPCA to unofficially hand over a cheque of R5 000 to SPCA manager Celeste Kleyn.

This year Tracy Collins, club secretary, phoned the SPCA to ask them what is needed.

Celeste Kleyn, manager of the SPCA, suggested the bikers use the R5 000 to pay its two outstanding accounts at two different vets.

She says it has helped a lot and had brought the outstanding amounts down considerably.

The bikers left the SPCA at noon to go to Potters Haven where they donated clothes to the children.

Tracy says they they have used a portion of the R5 000 to pay the haven’s pharmacy account.

Another stop during the day was at Grannies Foster Home in Geduld.

She says a portion of this home’s R5 000 went towards their electricity account and the rest was spent on food, clothes and linen as per the wish list they received.

These bikers used their profit to generously donate to the needy during this annual year-end event.

They have been doing this for the past five years and hope to continue reaching out to those in need.
