A man was shot dead at 9am, today (February 23) at Grootvlei.
The Springs police were on the scene after they received a call from community members about a shooting.
They arrived on the scene and found a 27-year-old man’s body in the long grass behind the houses.
The residents claim they heard a gun shot at 9am, but were too scared to investigate.
They say there are a lot of shootings in the area and they waited a long time before they went outside again.
It was then that they found the body of the man lying behind the houses in the long grass.
Spokesman for the Springs police, Captain Johannes Ramphora, confirmed the man was shot dead.
