Little ones race for funds

St. Catherine’s Nursery School held their first fundraiser of 2015, the annual Wheel Derby, on Saturday.

The children brought their prams, bicycles and tricycles to ride and they were sponsored per leg by their generous, and very proud, moms, dads, grandparents, aunts, uncles, brothers and sisters.

St. Catherine’s Nursery School is a non-profit Christian nursery school which relies on events such as this one to help with funding.

Children from as young as three-years-old to the age of six took to the street and raced around the traffic cones, most of them chased by excited parents and family members to show them the way.

Parents cheered when their child came over the line and went back again for another round of burning tyres around the cones.

The support of all families helped the event to be a success and will allow the school to upgrade the facilities and replace worn out equipment.
