Restuarant: Gold Nugget

The Gold Nugget, located in the CBD, is a Springs institution which has been the backdrop for Springsites’ celebrations for decades.
The menu offers a splendid variety for almost every taste – whether its chicken, fish or red meat you are after.
Be warned though this is not the place to take vegetarians as there are no options available to them.
Our party of six each had a different meal and everyone was very impressed with the huge portion sizes which saw each of us taking home a doggy bag as we simply couldn’t get through the fare on our plates.
While the restaurant has no vegetarian meals on their menu they were able to put together an interesting veggie platter for Carmen with an array of vegetables which, as I can verify from the veggie on my plate, contained tasty food with delicious flavours.
In fact, to my mind, the vegetables were the tastiest part of my meal.
While I found my steak (which I enjoy rare) to be rather overcooked, the other two meat eaters – Tumi with a huge portion of ribs and Malcolm who prefers his steak medium – thoroughly enjoyed the food.
Clyde and Michell reported that their calamari and chicken schnitzel, respectively, were delicious.
Gold Nugget has certainly stood the test of time in Springs and is a great venue for a family night out.
