Woman locked up in bedroom

A planned visit between friends saved locked up victim.

A visitor found her friend locked in a bedroom in Selcourt on Tuesday after a house robbery.

A woman was watering her front garden when she was approached by three suspects.

Springs police spokesman, Captain Johannes Ramphora, says they took the woman into the house by force.

The suspects asked where the safe was, but the woman explained there was no safe on the premises.

Ramphora says the three suspects took the woman to the main bedroom where they took her jewellery and cash.

They locked her in the bedroom and left the house with the door key.

After a while, a friend came to visit and found the woman locked in the bedroom.

They immediately contacted the local Community Police Forum (CPF) and the Springs police.

Ramphora claims the CPF opened the door to free the woman.

The police request the assistance of the community to assist them in their investigation.
