Entertainment room catches alight
Ekurhuleni Metro Police Department officers were on the scene of a house fire in Okapi Street, in Edelweiss, last Wednesday.
Barries Barnard from the Edelweiss CPF, who was also on the scene, says there were no injuries.
“The fire was detected early because the residents were awake and having a braai,” he says.
It is believed the fire started in an entertainment room.
“The beams of the roof caught fire, but it was quickly brought under control by the owners of the house and their friends.”
