Stormwater drain collapses in Selcourt Enclosure

A stormwater drain recently collapsed in Marlu Road, Selcourt Enclosure.

Resident Bruce Gardner believes the collapse is a result of large trucks driving over the drain.

He says the drain often overflows in the rainy season, and believes this is because it is the only drain on that side of the road.

Gardner suggests the Ekurhuleni Metro fixes the drain now during the dry, winter season.

“When it rains there is going to be a huge build up of water, which will cause a serious traffic hazard,” he says.

No comment was received from the metro at the time of going to print.
