Rocco de Villiers in Springs
Well-known pianist and entertainer, Rocco de Villiers, enchanted the audience at the Cinnamon Circle in Strubenvale on Saturday evening.
De Villiers was performing at the fund-raiser for the Springs and KwaThema Child Welfare Society.
He entertained the crowd for most of the night by playing some of his brand new songs, which have not yet been released.
Raffle tickets were sold where two lucky guests could win a hamper worth R1 000.
Willem Fourie Junior donated a five litre bottle of wine that was auctioned off by Rocco himself.
The bottle, which was signed by Rocco and worth R1 200, sold for an impressive R4 000.
The Springs and KwaThema Child Welfare Society is a non-profit organisation which focuses on children and families of Springs and KwaThema.
They provide professional services aimed at the protection and support of children.
The society currently has:
- 879 families on their caseload
- 685 children in foster care
- 17 children in children’s homes
