Load shedding back on the cards

Eskom announced load shedding yesterday (Monday) for the first time in five weeks.

Stage one load shedding was implemented yesterday from 7pm to 10pm due to a shortage of generating capacity and increased demand as well as a loss of generating units.

Eskom says there is a low load shedding probability for this morning and medium for this evening (Tuesday).

They state that the first unit of the Kusile power station is expected to come on stream in the first half of 2017, while the last unit is expected to be completed in 2021.
