The 19-year-old woman was asleep in her shack at 8pm, when she heard a knock on the door and someone calling for her brother.
When she opened the door, the suspect allegedly kicked her in her stomach ordering her to wake up her brother.
Springs police spokesman, Capt Johannes Ramphora, says when the suspect entered the shack he was followed by two other suspects.
One of the suspects was armed with a gun and the woman asked the suspect not to shoot.
The woman and her younger sister managed to escape through an opening at the back of the shack.
Ramphora says the armed suspect fired two shots but no one was injured.
The suspects took a cellphone and a schoolbag and left the scene.
A case of house robbery was opened at the police station.
