Cemetery’s fate outrages Springs residents
Springsites were outraged when they saw that the Geduld Cemetery is on a list of sites to be demolished.
This follows an article, (Inactive cemetery to be demolished), that stated the Ekurhuleni Metro will not repair a building on the site after it was destroyed by a fire.
“There are illegal occupants living at the cemetery and there is no use for the building as it is an inactive cemetery,” said Themba Gadebe, spokesman for the metro.
