According to Capt Johannes Ramphora, Springs police spokesman, the man parked his silver VW Vivo in front of his friend’s, who was in the car with him, house.
The two men got out of the vehicle to talk to the friend’s wife, who was standing at the gate inside the property.
Ramphora says the two armed men then approached them, demanded the car keys and ordered the two men and woman to lie down on the ground.
The armed suspects searched the two men and took their cellphones and R5 000 in cash.
The two suspects got into the VW and drove off.
No shots were fired.
A hijacking case was opened at the police station.
