Senior citizen traumatised after robbery

Two armed suspects robbed a senior citizen (74) at his house in Bunting Road, Dersley on Wednesday.

The man was watching TV at 8pm, when he noticed two armed men in his house.

Capt Johannes Ramphora, Springs police spokesman, says the intruders pointed their guns at the man and ordered him to lie on the ground.

His hands were tied behind his back with cable ties.

The suspects took the senior citizen’s 9mm Star pistol, TV, decoder, play station and CCTV camera and left the scene.

The senior citizen’s son and daughter were asleep during the robbery and when they woke up they found their father tied up in the lounge.

Ramphora says they untied their father and phone the police.

“The 74-year-old was traumatised after the robbery,” he adds.
