Leap-year babies at FERH
The nursing staff at Far East Rand Hospital (FERH) welcomed eight leap-year babies on the day.
Nthabiseng Mashinini (37) welcomed a baby girl who weighs 3.4kg at 4am on leap day.
“I’m happy that I’ve given birth to a healthy baby girl. The only problem is deciding when will we celebrate her first birth,” she says.
Nombizimba Madlale (24) welcomed a baby girl weighing 3.5kg and Crystal Motuke (29) welcomed a baby girl weighing 3.2kg.
The nursing staff anticipated still more leap-day babies as some women were still in the labour ward.
