Art lovers to enjoy T-shirt expo

A T-shirt expo will be hosted by the Ekurhuleni Metro at the Springs Art Gallery between noon and 5pm on Saturday.

According to metro spokesman Themba Gadebe, the mind of an artist is like a gold mine, forever producing rare yet profoundly invaluable commodities.

The expo is the brainchild of a group of innovative designers and artists called Blaq Mind Urban Culture, and it promises to be a celebration of street art, graffiti and photography by using T-shirts as a canvas.

Over 20 T-shirts will be exhibited through visual references and messages.

Gadebe says the expo is a celebration of sheer talent and skill and he encourages contemporary-art lovers and young people to witness innovation and be inspired.

The T-shirts will be for sale or auctioned to the public at the event.

Visitors will enjoy talks and walkabouts inside the gallery, as well as music and fashion.

Refreshments will be on sale at the venue.
