Suspects stab young man – ask girlfriend to ‘excuse them’

The house of a 22-year-old man was robbed at Daggafontein Informal Settlement on Sunday.

The man and his girlfriend were asleep at 12.30pm, when they heard a knock on the door.

No one answered and after a while the door was kicked open and four armed suspects entered.

Capt Johannes Ramphora, Springs police spokesman, says the suspects were armed with sticks and knives and they instructed the girlfriend to ‘excuse them’.

When the woman left the room the suspects took two cellphones, and told the man they were looking for his wife.

After informing the suspects that he doesn’t have a wife, they stabbed him in the chest and left the scene.

His girlfriend called an ambulance and paramedics treated him on the scene before taking him to a nearby hospital for treatment.

A case of house robbery and assault was opened at the police station.
