Following a recent article about the excavation site on Newmont Road, in Selcourt (Pot plants and potholes), the Ekurhuleni Metro has provided feedback.
According to residents, the site was closed-off with barricade tapes and left with what seemed like a plant growing from the middle of the road, after the metro workers had visited it.
Themba Gadebe, who is the Ekurhuleni Metro spokesman, explains that the site was closed-off and filled with crusher-run while repairs to the road were being awaited.
“The site was temporarily filled to allow the road to be in better driving condition while awaiting repairs,” he says.
