Robbers – ‘Don’t look at us’ before tying man up

A man woke up to a noise on the staircase of his house in Rose Street, Welgedacht, at 2.45am on Thursday morning.

Before he could investigate, three robbers, one armed with a firearm, entered his room and ordered him: “Don’t look at us”.

Capt Johannes Ramphora, Springs police spokesman, says the robbers, all wearing balaclavas, used a gown rope to tie up the victim and then ransacked the house.

The robbers were allegedly speaking Tsonga at the time and one of them called for the get-away vehicle, into which all the stolen goods were loaded.

They took two TV sets, a microwave, a grinder, a cellphone and a speaker worth approximately R28 000.

No shots were fired and no arrests have been made.
