Zweli Dlamini, mayoral spokesman, says that a major mechanical breakdown experienced is that of the vehicles’ hydraulic systems.
“The vehicles rely heavily on the hydraulic system as it compacts the waste before transporting it to the landfill site.”
Dlamini says the Metro does its best to explain the issue to complainants and rectify the situation.
“We always make up for the delay in refuse removal to the best of our ability,” he says.
