Kwasa will soon have its own chapel
Kwasa College in Daggafontein recently held its Chapel-of-the-Cross event with visitors from North Carolina in America.
Reverend Sharron Dinnie says the empty building, which will be restored and changed into a chapel, was occupied by vagrants for a long time.
“It took a lot of discussions and talks to finally get the vagrants to move from the building,” she says.
With the funds donated by the congregation from the Chapel-of-the-Cross church in North Carolina, the restoration and enlarging of the chapel will finally be possible.
The group of 11 parishioners from this church visited South Africa and attended a service at the college, along with many other esteemed guests, staff and children of Kwasa College.
It was during this visit to Kwasa that they handed over the donation to Kwasa.
For many years it has been one of Dinnie’s dreams to change the empty building into a chapel, but without the necessary funds, it was never possible to do so.
“We are forever grateful for the visitors who made this dream come true,” she says.
