Christiaan Willemse from Sundra, Mpumalanga was convicted of rape and declared unfit to possess a firearm.
The victim reported the incident in December 2014 and told the police Willemse pointed a gun at her and raped her at Aston Lake.
Capt Johannes Ramphora, Springs police spokesman, says the victim was raped in an open field at Aston Lake.
“The victim took down the car registration number of the vehicle and we arrested the accused in November 2015,” he says.
Willemse was sentenced to life in prison and will serve his sentence at Modderbee Prison.
