Springs lunch celebrations
Senior citizens enjoyed a scrumptious spring lunch at Malan Nel Dienssentrum on Wednesday.
The 95 people gathered at the centre at 9am where Pastor Joe Visagie (84) opened the event with a church service.
According to centre manager, Sadie Breytenbach (59), the pastor has been part of the club for many years and all the senior citizens know him very well.
The service was followed with a few songs and then lunch was served.
Mavis Nel (82) says they were overwhelmed by the warm atmosphere and always feel at home at the centre, and Wednesday’s get together was just one of the few wonderful, and most enjoyable, events held at the centre.
Hannes Marais (62) celebrated his birthday with his wife Petra (57), his sister Ester Smit (69) as well as the rest of 91 other seniors.
“Serving these friendly and loving people is the least I can do to make them feel special and to welcome spring,” says Sarie.
