According to Springs police spokesman Capt Johannes Ramphora, they were on routine patrol when they noticed the suspect.

“The suspect (age unknown) ran away, but was caught at 10.30am,” says Ramphora.
When the police asked the suspect why he ran away, he allegedly informed them he was scared because he was in possession of nyaope.

The suspect was taken to the police cells where he will remain until his first court appearance.
Ramphora says the suspect has not been charged and no court date was set at the time of publishing.
