Capt Johannes Ramphora, Springs police spokesman, says the man allegedly informed the woman the child (age unknown) was with his grandmother.

According to Ramphora, the woman claims her ex-boyfriend pushed her into his bedroom and allegedly raped her before he assaulted her with a broomstick.
It is believed the man is an illegal immigrant.
The police are investigating a case of rape.
