Zenzele woman allegedly raped by ex-boyfriend

A 38-year-old Zenzele informal settlement resident was allegedly raped by her ex-boyfriend on Sunday.

Spokesman for the Springs police, Captain Johannes Ramphora, says the woman claims she was at a function at 3pm when her ex-boyfriend approached her, took her cellphone and left.

The woman reported that she followed the man to try and get her cellphone back.

“When she reached his shack, he pulled her inside and allegedly raped her,” says Ramphora.

The woman allegedly asked for her cellphone and her rapist allegedly raped her a second time after which he handed over her cellphone.

He threatened to kill her if she reported the incident to police.

Ramphora says the woman left the shack and reported the incident to her aunt.

No arrests have been made.
