The event was held at Riverside Country Lodge, in Grootvaly.
The purpose of the event is to honour businesses for employment creation, enterprise, skills, social and economic development, environment and recognition by peers for excellence.
Individuals received special awards for social upliftment of the community, outstanding sports achievement and environment.
Phillip de Jager received a special award for his commitment and dedication to the chamber over the past 42 years.
“He was co-opted onto the executive committee of the chamber in 1974, by reason of his legal expertise and knowledge of the chamber movement,” says Mary Reynolds, president of the EGCCI.
The Skills and Enterprise Development award was given to PFG Building Glass, while Reynolds handed over the Environment Special Achievement award to Stan Madden, for his contribution to the environment.
Impala Platinum Refineries received the Corporate Social Investment, Skills, Enterprise and Sports Development, Job Creation and Environmental Management award.
The Corporate Social Investment, Job Creation, Enterprise and Skills Development as well as Environment award went to Isaac Tshabalala, from Gold One.
Carnival City received the Corporate Social Investment, Sports and Enterprise Development award.
Reynolds Travel Centre received the Corporate Social Investment, Trainee and Employee Development, Recognition by Peers and the Clean Springs Project.
Mary handed over the Corporate Social Investment award to John Petterson from Diesel Electric Industrial.
Manton Engineering received the award for Skills Development and Corporate Social Investment, while the Social Upliftment of the Community award was given to Enchanted Wedding Designs.
Square Roots received the Clean Springs O’Hagans Project award and Fernando Booysen, Geanne Dicks and Odine Kirsten were each rewarded with an Outstanding Sports Achievements award.
The lucky draw prize-winner was Tanya van Zyl, who won a two-night stay, including bed and breakfast, at a hotel in Umhlanga, courtesy of Reynolds Travel Centre.
Cathy Delay entertained the guests with her saxophone.
The music was sponsored by Carnival City.
