The son of a 54-year-old woman raised the alarm when he heard their glass door being broken on Tuesday.
The incident took place at 11.20pm in First Avenue, Welgedacht.

SAPS spokesman Capt Johannes Ramphora says the the mother and son (age unknown) asked the robber, “What do you want?”
When the robber asked for money, the woman offered to give him cash.
“However, they soon realised the robber wasn’t alone when they heard the sound of falling glass,” says Ramphora.
The family ran to a bedroom, broke the window and escaped.
Ramphora says they then ran to their neighbours and called for help.
The mother and son returned with their neighbour’s sons (ages unknown), who chased the three robbers away.

The robbers took two cellphones and an iPad valued at R18 000.
Police found the plastic pipe that was used to break the glass door on the scene.
A house robbery case is being investigated.
