Two men confronted a security guard sitting in one of the trucks parked on the premises at about 12.45am.
The guard was held at gunpoint, before being tied up with shoelaces.
Springs police spokesman, Capt Johannes Ramphora, says the suspect informed the guard “we just want tyres”.
One of the men, who was armed with a firearm, stayed with the guard, while the other left.
“It was first suspected that there were only two suspects, but the guard says there were six in total,” says Ramphora.
Police arrived on the scene and searched the premises.
They found that a propshaft from one of the trucks, 21 truck tyres and six truck batteries valued at R168 000 were missing.
The guard informed the police that the suspects only left the premises at 3am.
Police are investigating a business robbery case.
