The police reacted to information received from the community about the suspects being at Ratanda Shopping Centre, Heidelberg, at 10pm, and this is where they were found with the hijacked vehicle.

Ekurhuleni East cluster commander Major General Girly Mbele says two of the suspects, both aged 21, are from Payneville and the other suspect, aged 25, is from Ratanda Extension Six.
The suspects allegedly hijacked the Nissan Hardbody from a 53-year-old victim, in Main Street, Everest informal settlement, at gunpoint, on Thursday.
“We are investigating the case to positively link these suspects to the hijacked vehicle,” says Mbele.

She encourages the police to ensure they leave no stone unturned when dealing with crime.
“The community should feel and be safe at all times,” says Mbele.
