A woman’s car was hijacked in the driveway of a friend’s house in Okapi Street, Edelweiss, on Tuesday.
The woman heard a knock on her window at 6pm, just as she was driving into the property.
Capt Johannes Ramphora Springs police spokesman says the suspect pretended he wanted to ask the woman something.

“The suspect pulled out a firearm and the woman responded by putting her hands in the air,” he says.
The woman says she told the suspect she would willingly get out of the vehicle.
Another suspect appeared on the scene, opened the passenger side of the vehicle and ordered his accomplice to let the woman go.
Both suspects got into the vehicle and drove off.

Ramphora says the woman’s wallet containing her driver’s licence, bank cards, and an undisclosed amount of cash, X-rays, medical reports and her cellphone were in the vehicle.
Police are investigating a case of hijacking.
