Veritas Prep College learners give back to charity

Veritas Preparatory College learners did their part for Mandela Day in donating blankets and toiletries.

Veritas Preparatory College learners gave back 67 minutes or more of their time to help those less fortunate than themselves at the Hope iThemba Crisis Pregnancy Centre for Mandela Day.

Veritas Preparatory College ran two initiatives with the first being the knitting of squares by Grade One learners which were sewn together into blankets and donated to the centre.

The second initiative comprised of the Grade Fives collecting toiletries which were donated to the new mothers at the centre.

The centre director, Pat Kemp says they are thrilled and excited with the donations from the school.

“I feel this was an answer to our prayers.

“We are blessed that Veritas has chosen Hope iThemba,” says Kemp.

Hope iThemba is a registered Non-Profit Organisation (NPO) and Public Benefit Organisation (PBO) with the purpose of coming alongside women in a crisis or experiencing an unwanted pregnancy.

Kemp says she would like to thank all the teachers and learners for making a difference in distributing parcels to assist the new mothers and their little ones.
