Police nab man selling dagga

A man who was selling dagga at a taxi rank was arrested.

Springs police received information about a suspect selling dagga at the Springs Taxi Rank on Sunday.

When they arrived on the scene at 3pm, they noticed a suspect who fit the description of the man they were looking for.

According to Springs police spokesperson Capt Johannes Ramphora, they approached the suspect (34) and conducted a search.

“We found 54 small plastic bags containing dagga in his possession,” he says.

The police arrested the suspect and took him to the police cells.

They opened a case of possession of dagga.

The dagga has a street value of about R2 400.

“The suspect is due to appear in the Springs Magistrate’s Court on Monday,” says Ramphora.
