Bakerton donates 6 500 liters of water to the Western Cape

Bakerton joins in the efforts to help drought-stricken Western Cape.

Bakerton residents, in partnership with the Gift of the Givers, have donated 6 500 liters of water to the people of the Western Cape.

The water was collected over two days and people have been bringing in five-liter bottles of water and those who couldn’t have donated money.

“My neighbours, friends and family have been wonderful in how they have supported this cause.

“I am part of the Springs Women’s Forum, the South African Women’s Forum, which is part of the Gift of the Givers.

“I have always been involved in helping the poor and those who are suffering”, says organiser Khatija Mayet.

“Although I started this campaign, I really have not done it on my own and people have contributed so much,” says Mayet.
