Blind man assaulted and robbed in his Wright Park home

A 60-year-old blind man was assaulted by an unknown number of suspects while he was in his home in Wright Park.

On Friday at around 12.30pm, the complainant was in his house with the door closed, but not locked, when suspects suddenly opened the door.

“They started assaulting the complainant and forced him into his bedroom,” says Capt Johannes Ramphora, spokesperson for the Springs police.

The suspects took a TV and cellphone and fled the scene.

Police are investigating a case of house robbery.
