Welgedacht Park project continues

The Welgedacht Park project will continue as planned.

Workers on site were alarmed after they received termination of contract letters from the contractor.

Ward Councillor Dean Stone with Dipuo Mashabela, the communications liaison officer on site.

The park would have included a picnic area, an amphitheater and a chessboard for players to enjoy.

The workers will now receive their contract on a week by week basis until the park is finished.

Dean Stone, ward councillor for the area says: “The community was very excited about this park.

“We have not had any security problems since construction began September last year.”

Themba Gadebe says: “We are still busy on site and we will be finalising the first phase before the end of this financial year.”
