What you should know before you go to Far East Rand Hospital.

Patients who are visiting the Far East Hospital for the first time are requested to bring along a referral letter from the local clinic or a doctor.
Those without the referral letter will be seen by the Triage Sister who will then refer the patient back to the local clinic for further management.

Transport will be arranged to take the above-mentioned patients to the local clinic.
Booked or referred patients should always bring the following documents to the hospital:
• Identity document
• Proof of address
• Proof of income
• Proof of earning pension/disability grants (Sassa cards)
The above intervention is meant to commence preparations for the national health insurance and also reduce waiting times for the patients visiting the facility.
