PHOTOS: Head-on collision in Nigel Road

A head-on collision took place on Nigel Road underneath the Tonk Meter bridge today (Saturday) at around noon.

According to concerned citizen Barend van Heerden, cattle were crossing Nigel Road when a driver allegedly swerved to avoid them.

“He swerved into the oncoming lane and hit another vehicle head-on,” says van Heerden.

At the time of publishing, only one person was confirmed to be injured.

Van Heerden says during the past two years, the community has complained during various meetings about the cattle walking freely across roads.

CPF members and ambulance services and the EMPD were on the scene.

The scene has been cleared.
