New crime watch slot on ER Stereo

East Rand Stereo will, from today (Monday), host a crime-watch slot at 10am on Monday and Friday.

The aim of this, according to operations manager Pieter van Wijk, is to keep Springs residents abreast of crime trends and hot areas as per information given to them by the SAPS.

The radio management will meet with members of the SAPS each month to discuss trends and hot spots as well as receiving an update from the police as and when necessary to keep Springsites safer.

They will also include news about police successes in the previous month.

“We are a community-based station and as such our concern is for the community in which we live and operate,” van Wijk says.

“The welfare of the community is very important to us.”
