Geduld dump site to handle more waste after renovation

The Geduld dump site is currently being renovated after an outcry from the residents.

The renovations have already started and it is anticipated that they will end at the end of August.

Included in the renovations will be an increase in the size of the dump, separate entrance for cars and trucks and more bins for each category of waste.

“The dumpsite will be cleaned out every two days.

“There will be some disruptions while the renovations are taking place but the dump will still be open from 8am until 4pm.

“After the renovations, there will be 24-hour security on site and palisade fencing,” says community liaison officer William Jordaan.
