Learners invited to enter the schools braai competition

Meat World, located at the Springs National Fresh Produce market, is organising an exciting braai competition to take place on September 22 in celebration of National Braai Day.

The competition is open to school teams which must include five learners and one teacher or parent as their supervisor.

Meat World will provide teams with a basket of meat including lamb, chicken, wors and steak and each team must braai all the cuts of meat provided and prepare at least two side dishes.

Non-meat products must be brought from home.

Each team must also provide their own table, braai, charcoal or wood, firelighters, gazebo and anything else they may need.

Preparation will begin at 9am and the judging will take place at 1pm.

Big prizes are up for grabs with the winning team walking away with meat to the value of R10 000.

The second prize is meat to the value of R5 000 and the third prize is worth R2 500.

There will be plenty of stalls and entertainment to keep the family busy while scholars battle it out for the best braai title.
