A 27-year-old man was shot dead last Monday evening in Nutcracker Street in Bakerton.
According to police, the Zimbabwean national was approached by two men with guns who demanded his cellphone.
When the victim attempted to take his cellphone out of his pocket, he was shot three times.

The suspects ran away.
“Upon arrival of the SAPS the cellphone was found lying on the grass about two metres away from the victim, who was declared dead on the scene by the paramedics,” says Springs Police spokesperson Capt Johannes Ramphora.
