Two men robbed by six men on 1st Street

A man and his friend were robbed of their cellphones and clothing by six men on 1st Street last Friday evening.

The victim and his friend were walking near the taxi rank when they were suddenly approached by six men who appeared to come from nowhere.

The six men broke off into groups of three and proceeded to search the victim and his friend.

The suspects got away with the victims’ cellphones and clothes.

Springs police spokesperson Capt Johannes Ramphora says: “This is not the first robbery with such a large group of suspects in the same area. The public is urged to be vigilant.”
