Driver hijacked while making deliveries in Springs Extensions

CCTV footage at the scene of the hijacking indicated the suspects drove a white VW Polo.

 

A driver was hijacked while making deliveries in Springs Extensions on Monday afternoon.

The victim had just picked up is co-worker when they were approached by two men, one of whom had a firearm.

The armed suspect opened the passenger door, ordered both men out and fled the scene with the bakkie.

After the suspects fled the scene, the victim was able to contact his office, the police and another co-worker who was busy with a delivery in another part of Springs, who informed him he had spotted the bakkie in Ceres Street in Pollak Park.

Springs police accompanied the victims from the scene of the hijacking to where the bakkie was spotted and recovered the bakkie.

CCTV footage at the scene of the hijacking indicated the suspects drove a white VW Polo.

There were no injuries during the hijacking and no shots were fired.
