Metro responds to lingering election posters

The metro has responded to an enquiry the paper sent and Themba Gadebe, metro spokesperson, says: “Election posters should be removed 14 days after the elections.

“A letter was sent to the Electoral Commission of South Africa (IEC) on May 17 requesting the IEC to inform political parties to remove the posters on or before May 28.

“So, the election posters had to be removed by then.

“The metro is currently removing posters and we charge the owner R42 per poster.”
